AirKey transforms a smartphone into a key, allowing for secure transmission of virtual keys to other smartphones and offering an online management system for access control. The fundamental requirements are straightforward: an AirKey locking component, a smartphone, and an internet connection. Should smartphone use be undesirable, alternative access media such as cards or key tags are also available.

The security features of AirKey are noteworthy. Communication between the smartphone and the locking component is safeguarded by end-to-end encryption, ensuring protection against interception. Additionally, the app is secured with an extra PIN, and the key tags incorporate advanced technology that prevents duplication.

Additionally, AirKey encompasses practical features designed for businesses. These include one-click importation of personal data, exportation of system data, assignment of maintenance permissions to smartphones, and a REST API facilitating function control via proprietary software.

In alignment with EU General Data Protection Regulations, AirKey was meticulously developed in collaboration with data protection experts to ensure compliance with legal standards in data management.
